Fully Refurbished Vintage Challenge Hurricane Road Bike. Here are the main specs. Medium Sized 62cm Steel Frame & Forks. NEW 27 x 1 1/4 Alloy Rims. Bolt on rear & QR Front. Built onto 36 spoke Alloy Hubs. NEW Schwalbe 27 Tan Wall Tyres. 7 Speed SACHS 12-18 Tooth LY-99 Freewheel. Shimano Derailleur gears with matching Downtube Shifters. NEW Bar Tape, NEW Gear & Brake cables (Inner & Outer). Pedals, NEW Chain NEW Saddle. 2 speed Cotterless Alloy Crankset with NEW Sealed Bottom Bracket. This bike came to me as a bit of a basket case. It had been looked after beforehand but time had not been kind to the bike. The chromed steel rims had rotted thru & all the consummable items had perished. Rust had also started to get under the badly faded paint. So I decided on a full bare metal re-spray. I chose a nice Blue colour which really sets of the bike very well. The bike is more or less original except for the wheels & has retained all of its original components which responded well to being cleaned up. I built a new set of wheels. The front hub is an SR branded QR alloy & the rear is an unbranded Bolt on alloy. They look fantastic on the bike & wearing the good quality Schwalbe tyres they look fantastic on the bike. I fully stripped the bike serviced & cleaned up all of the individual components. All the cables, both inner & outer are new as are the brake pads. The Bar tape is also new. All the greasy bits are greased & all the oily bits oiled & while it might need a bit of fettling to get it “just so” the bike is ready to go & should offer its new owner a safe & comfortable ride. Overall this is a nice bike & as i mentioned it wears its age well. It is a 62cm, medium/large sized frame so may suit smaller riders as well as those around 6 foot.
